Periareolar Incision Method
The periareolar incision method involves making an incision only around the perimeter of the nipple's areola, working on a principle similar to taking contents out of a pouch and then tightening the opening again.
Since the scar is confined only around the areola, it leaves minimal scarring, maintains the natural shape and function of the breast,
involves a relatively simple procedure, and enables quick recovery with minimal bleeding.
Vertical Incision Method
As a method intermediate between the periareolar incision and the anchor ('inverted-T') incision, it leaves fewer scars than the anchor incision and can be performed for moderate or greater breast reductions;
however, because the shape immediately after surgery differs significantly from the final result, it is a high-difficulty surgery requiring experienced judgment.
Inverted-T (Wise Pattern) Incision Method
A suitable method when both breast hypertrophy and sagging are severe, this surgical technique involves an incision that includes the periareolar incision and extends downward in an omega shape.
